The Middle East is an area where cars and truck is king and fuel is cheap, typically leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have pushed up the price of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one company is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
